New York's Yellow Eyes, helmed by the brothers Skarstad, have a feeling for atmosphere and melody that just sets them apart from everything else. Their sound is super recognizable without being overtly avant-garde. I have followed them ever since 'Sick With Bloom' (2015) and saw them evolve and expand within their own musical corner, while they released some absolutely extraordinary albums. Next to the great Sam and Will, the thick bass from DeMaria is an integral part, and then there's secret weapon Mike Rekevics - you really have got to see him molest a drum kit live just once in your life.
